Expected Impact: In seasons of intense activity, our inner peace can easily be disrupted. This prayer is designed to help you recenter, regain focus, and walk through your day with grace. By grounding yourself in God’s Word and presence, you will be better equipped to respond to life, rather than react from emotion.
Dear Lord,
As May unfolds with its blooming flowers and bursting calendars, I feel the tide of emotion rising and falling within me. The mix of anticipation, joy, overwhelm, and fatigue stirs like spring winds—gentle, yet unpredictable. My soul often feels like a leaf in the breeze, unsure of where it will land.

But You, O Lord, are my anchor.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10) In stillness, I remember that I am not alone. I remember that I am not the sum of my productivity, my obligations, or my emotional fluctuations.
Today, I pause in Your presence. I lay down the burden of always being strong and choose instead to be held by You. Teach me to breathe deeply, slowly, as if inhaling Your peace and exhaling my worries.

Let Your Word steady my heart: “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.” (Psalm 42:5)
When I feel lost in the swirl of responsibilities, be my map. When I am flooded with emotion, be my refuge. When I am tempted to numb or ignore what I feel, be my truth.
Help me to live this month not by force, but by faith. Not by pressure, but by Your presence. Let my conversations be gracious. Let my thoughts be filtered through hope. Let my eyes see others with compassion, and myself with grace.

You are the Shepherd of my soul. Lead me beside still waters. Restore me (Psalm 23). Let not my heart be ruled by moods or people’s expectations, but by Your unwavering love.
I surrender the whirlwind of May into Your hands. Carry me through each hour. Steady me in each storm. Let me end each day not just having completed my tasks, but having remained connected to Your heart.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Reflect: What emotion has been loudest in your heart this month—joy, sadness, irritation, fear? As you hold that emotion in God’s presence, what truth does He speak back to you?
